Remember when you were a kid, and a trip to the corner store for candy threw you into heady delight? Or the rush you felt at the first concert you ever attended, of your only most favourite band? Excited would be the understatement.
That is exactly how The Brenster and Carrum Show feel about their special guests at La Playa Mazatlan this month! -We are more than excited about this upcoming seasons special guests. The Jan 16th show with Michelle Wright, Beverley Mahood and Patricia Conroy is one you cant see anywhere but here in Mazatlan. Having these three superstars all on one stage at the same time is a dream come true, not for only me but for a lot of country music fans,-says Brent
Together, these three women have accumulated over 100 country music awards. Their talent, their camaraderie and humour are sure to create an unforgettable show, one they are all extremely looking forward to. These Canadian country music artists have been friends for some time, and remain so even though Michelle and Patricia are in Nashville, and Beverley lives in Ontario. -When I was first starting out, I was a fan of both Michelle and Patricia. They were trailblazers for female artists in Canada,- says Beverley. -I am so grateful now to call them my friends.-
-Ive known both of them for years and we did one other all-girl show in Exeter, Ontario last summer,- adds Patricia. -It was a beautiful evening. We each sang some of our songs and ended with one we performed together! I have written songs with both Michelle and Beverley and we will share those stories on stage.-
-The friendship between the three of has grown and become very special,- says Michelle. -We have a lot of fun together as well as a lot of respect for each other.-
All three artists have crossed paths professionally with Brent in the past. -I opened for Michelle at the Jack Singer Hall in Calgary in the mid 90s,- says Brent. -And I have been fortunate to know all three of these gals for the past 20 years. It will be great to have them all together!-
-Brent and Tanya are dear friends and terrific performers,- says Patricia. -I hope Michelle and Beverley have the kind of trip they will always remember.-
-I think this tour was Patricias sneaky-smart idea to have us all together. There is something magical when we perform as a team,- says Beverley. -Patricia is our ideas girl. I have known Brent for years as a go-getter and an upstanding guy. What more could you want?-
-Patricia was sending me beautiful pictures while she was there the last time and commenting on how great everything was and how well she was treated,- adds Michelle, -and was kind enough to suggest that Beverley and I join her this year.-
Brenster maintains the primary premise for creating the Brenster and Carrum Country Concert series is to promote Mazatlan. -I am so proud to have the Three Amigas joining us. Its a win-win for everyone. The audience here experiences world class entertainment and the artists return north to spread the word about what an amazing place Mazatlan is,- says Brenster. -With more and more music fans now booking trips to specifically see these shows, The Tourism Board and The Mazatlan Hotel Association are seeing the fruit of their sponsorship. Hundreds of additional room nights have already been book for this seasons concert series, which is great for Mazatlan as a whole.-
All three artists agree that what they like best about the industry are the performing, the people they meet and the friends they make, friends that last a lifetime.
Although this is the trios first time playing together in Mazatlan, Beverley shared a story about the one time she did perform in Mexico.
-While, I wouldnt call it a performance, a few years back I rented a house where my friends live in San Miguel,- she recalls. -We went to the favourite watering hole where a band was playing. I had a couple of wonderful margaritas and decided I was now part of the House Band. So....I am looking forward to a margarita but dont really need to see that house band again.-
-Our gracious fans loved Patricia Conroy and her music when she was here last season,- says Brent. -I have no doubt they will love the music, energy and talent these amazing artists will bring to the stage. I am so looking forward to performing with them!-
